Erin Stanfield LCSW, Y-CBT, RYT

Erin is the Founder and CEO at Rising Phoenix Wellness Services. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy from Indiana University and a Master's degree in Social Work from Arizona State University. Erin performed her residency at an outdoor treatment center for high risk youth and worked with gambling addicts at a clinic in Scottsdale. Erin's clinical experience includes working with individuals, couples and groups in all levels of care. She has been in private practice seeing dual diagnosis clients for 13 years. Erin specializes in addiction and co-dependency. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher and a certified Yoga-Cognitive Behavioral Therapist. Erin believes in an integrated mind and body and utilizes a holistic approach to mental health in order for her clients to achieve an optimal state of wholeness and well-being.

Dr. Reyes Topete MD
Medical Director

Dr. Topete was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. He attended ASU where he obtained his B.S. in biology. He then entered The University of Arizona College of Medicine and graduated in 1992 with an M.D. degree. He then proceeded to complete his Internal Medicine Residency at Saint Joseph Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ in 1995.
Dr. Topete started working in the field of addiction medicine in 1994. He fell in love with the patient population and the science of addiction. He is board certified by the ABAM. Dr. Topete understands his patient's individual needs and dedicates himself to giving them the best. He has been the medical director at CBI, Valley Hospital, Aurora Behavioral East and West, and Saint Lukes.

Audrey Childs  MA, EAMH
Director of Operations

Audrey earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Denison University in Ohio. She then went on to Prescott College in Arizona, where she was one of the first students in the U.S. to earn both her Master's in Counseling and Psychology as well as a certification for Equine Assisted Mental Health (EAMH). Audrey has over 15 years of experience in the diverse field of mental health and substance abuse treatment. She has worked as an Intake Therapist at St. Luke's Behavioral Health Center and as a Behavioral Health Tech at the Crisis Recovery Unit. While working at Devereux as a Case Manager in the foster care division, she also developed and implemented their Respite Program. Audrey also has EAMH clinical experience where she worked with at-risk youth, focusing specifically on grief and loss.

Elana Weiss LMSW

Elana has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Arizona State University and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University. She has been in the field for over 8 years and has worked at Arizona Youth and Family Services as a Case Manager and has experience working in acute mental health and detox facilities, including Quail Run and Banner Thunderbird. She specializes in working with adolescents, families and adults. Elana incorporates modalities such as strength-based, CBT and DBT into her client’s individual treatment. Elana is passionate about helping her clients reach their therapeutic goals. 

JoAnna Shapiro, LPC
Executive Director

JoAnna Shapiro, LPC is the Executive Director for Rising Phoenix Wellness Services in Scottsdale, Az. She has an enduring and profound belief in the ability that people can change, grow, and recover. She believes that each person is unique, and therefore no one approach is right for everyone. She strives to integrate a variety of therapeutic techniques and perspectives from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, motivational interviewing, coping skills, and relapse prevention.
JoAnna earned her Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. She has over 20 years working in the field of Healthcare with an emphasis in Eating Disorders and Addictions providing leadership in all phases of care- Inpatient, residential and outpatient with nationally known facilities.
She enjoys spending time with her family. Along with family time, she enjoys yoga, hiking, bicycling, and going to the beach.


Dawn Lawson
Wellness Educator

Dawn has a Bachelor’s in Psychology with a certification in Nutrition in Health and Wellness. Dawn started a career in the fitness industry as a health coach. Dawn then became a certified yoga instructor and now teaches multiple group fitness formats including yoga, cycle, strength training, and interval training. She is passionate about helping others on their journeys to discovering healthy, balanced lives using physical fitness and nutrition. Dawn lives in Scottsdale, Arizona with her husband and 2 fur babies.
